Squid and octopi have the advantage of being able to
produce both visual and tactile displays.

Cephalopods generally are recognised as being fairly intelligent, to the extent that they enjoy many of the same protections as vertebrates. For instance, you can use invertebrates in experiments easily, apart from cephalods for which the regulations are similar to those for mice and other vertebrates. |
