Perpetual vacuum cleaner

 A vacuum cleaner that runs constantly on its own

This is a small, self-propelled vacuum cleaner that bounces off anything it bumps into, thus randomly covering all the space in a room. It can be left on to keep the floors clean all the time. For bag changes or battery recharging, it could be equipped with a beeper. Please, somebody make this machine!

       It shouldn't be too hard to make one of these, the only problem I would have with it is the speed/force of the vacuum. I mean, some people have light, top heavy endtables with plants on them, that would be an awful waste to have the plant vacuumed up by the automatic vacuum cleaner. Also, how loud would it be, could I turn it on before I go to bed and not be kept up all night long? Would it wake my sleeping child?   

       Again, I say it shouldn't be too hard, my in-laws have something like this for their pool and I use to have something like this as a toy.

       It wouldn't have to beep for battery recharging, just follow the walls till it found an empty outlet and plugged itself in.

The Roomba has a "side brush", which looks kind of like some small pieces of fishing line that lash out along the floor as it goes, presumably serving this purpose. Kind of like a mini-weed-wacker (or in the UK, a mini-strimmer) for dust clumps.
