PayMe TV
A new reality TV show where you can buy your 15 minutes | |
Despite the fact that there are a plethora of reality tv shows out there, there are still untold numbers of bright, bubbly oh-so-interesting young people with big, strong personalities and absurdly wealthy parents all desperate for their 15 minutes of fame.
On this TV show they get to 'perform' for
15 minutes to a dialled in audience. Everybody is issued with a premium rate telephone line (£5 per minute) that is wired into your television. The show dials everyone in the country on their premium line which, if you answer, switches your TV to the relevant channel and the volume up full obliging you to watch but paying you £5 per minute while you do. You can put your phone down anytime you like and the winner is whoever has the largest audience at the end of the 15 minutes.

So every 15 minutes I'll get a call charging me a fiver if I pick up? No thanks. |

Ironically, I guess this would be most people's reaction seeing as how ripped off most of us feel. No, in this scenario when you answer the phone you are being paid £5 per minute. |

[21 Quest] You are quite right which is why the contestant pays, not the station. |

Ah, in that case I switch my bone to a bun, but only if the phone it calls has no ring, and is in my TV. |

Answer the phone, leave the room, spend a happy 15 minutes pottering in the garden out of earshot of the TV, get paid £5. [+] |
