Parking A/C or Heat

solar powered heat and cooling for a parked car

Solar cells built into the car along with a geothermal like system included into the roof or other body parts.Would cool or heat the car when its parked. You would set a desired climate for the inside of car as it sits out in the sun. No longer would you have to go out on a cold morning an wait for you car to warm up.Or scrap of the ice / snow for a timer could start up the heating system. During the summer you would not have to sweat that afternoon heat when you got in your car to go home. The solar cooling system would have kept it cool. A small cooler/ freezer could be inculded in the truck for those foods that might melt before getting home from the store. You could even stop on the way home from the store and not worry about the ice cream melting. Nor would you have to worry about a pet if you had to run into a store to pick up a forgotten item. No longer would you have to leave it running to provide the cooling or heat. It might even help get better gas mileage. With the "old style A/C" equitpment no longer needed the drag it produced on the engine would be gone. The system could even tell if battery was low and recharge the battery as it sat parked waiting for you. All of the systems that one would use to do this on a car are being use for heating and cooling homes and factorys now. Maybe it should be called the automatic climate car?

       Already been halfbaked. See links.

The Summertime Parked Car Fan works off the car battery where this would work off the geothermal parts installed.
Photovoltaic Paint is what is used to power the car or any thing esle it was painted on. Its description did not apply its self to the cooling of a car
The other item was a add on device where this would be done by the factory.

Right. But the photovoltaic paint is a form of a solar energy collector. And the fan is used to cool the car when its parked in the hot sun. The concept of an "automatic climate car" has been discussed many times in the annos, and ideas similar to these on the HB.
