Parabolic Microphone Pen

It can pick a whisper out of a crowded room - and it writes!

Pen with a retractable dish that can focus distance sound on pickups near the point. It has a headphone jack in the non-business end.

Useful for students, reporters (especially political pundits from the New York Times), and your basic nosy person.

Make the dish detachable and get a convenient cosmic ray deflector beanie in the bargain!

This is only a *little* off subject--Rods, have you every experimented with making the platters from defunct disk drives into reflectors? Seems like with the proper form one may be able to squeeze the aluminum-substrate ones into shallow bowls, eh?

I have a vague memory of this gadget (exactly the same, right down to the earphone) on The Man From U.N.C.L.E or some other 60s-vintage spy show.
