Ammonium Nitrate is soluble at 170g/l in Methanol at 20 C.
Methanol can be blended with gasoline as a vehicle fuel and burnt in an unmodified* engine.
To increase engine output, rather than injecting N2O and/or water, just switch over to the new BorgCo fuel when needed.
Ammonium Nitrate decomposes
at 250 C into Nitrous Oxide (a useful oxidizing agent) and water, leaving no residue. The N2O reacts further, releasing N2 and free oxygen which promotes combustion. The water - actually, hot steam - has a huge coefficient of expansion, and boosts pressures while cooling the charge.
*After you try this stuff, though, you may find that your engine has been slightly modified involuntarily, or indeed has disappeared altogether.

I can imagine trying this out in an engine which had first been
carefully removed from a vehicle and placed well out of harm's
way. |
Pretty sure the only result would be an immediately trashed engine. |
Betcha not ... where should we send the drum of fuel* for you to test ? |
**Best keep it in a cool, dry place, away from naked flames, shock, changes in temperature or humidity, vibration, radio-frequency energy, and friction. |
Actually no, on second thoughts, put it anywhere. Anywhere at all ... just as long as we can get the damn stuff shipped to you before there are any more, er, well, difficulties ... |
My hazy recollection of fuel/ammonium nitrate combos is that they are more often used for other, briefer purposes. |

This is simply an engineering problem. |
That's what we keep telling people - it's not our fault if their engine isn't properly fixed down. |

That'd be ANFO - ammonium nitrate & fuel oil. It's what puts the
"shot" into "pit, bench, shot, block and flitch". That should be the
name of some sort of business partnership. What line do you
think they'd be in? |

[+] Could take awhile to figure out the injectors, though. |

The most recent anonymous PO Box should suffice, but is it completely necessary to label shipments as "Sex Toys (Used)" ? |
That was a clerical error - the shipping department got you confused with Sturton Buchanan. We will make sure the box is labelled as "Agricultural Machinery Spares" in the traditional way. |
// What line do you think they'd be in? // |

Well, internal combustion engine reconditioning would be a area of opportunity. |
Or possibly fire extinguishing systems .... |

Some crossup of private investigators and accounting ? |

//We will make sure the box is labelled as "Agricultural Machinery Spares" in the traditional way.// Strange - that's what Sturton's sex toys are usually marked. |

Like we said, clerical error ... |

More likely the legal partners in a John Grisham novel. |

Actually, Sturton really enjoyed the forage harvester, though he said the seed drill was a little overenthusiastic. |
