Apologies firstly - this is a direct spinoff of the Panic PIN and Low Limit PIN.

To appease your attacker, give him the "Overdrawn PIN" - the ATM then displays a message saying something like

"Your account balance is currently £4221.66 overdrawn. Overdraft limit £2500. You may not make a withdrawal. Your card has been retained"

What's the guy gonna do? If you haven't got it you can't give it to him.

Of course, he may not believe you if you've just stepped out of a Bentley and you're dressed in the finest designer gear... I'll let the flaming start along those lines.

Well, you could always claim that the fancy threads and wheels are where all the money went.

I don't need any clever technology to do this....

Or a "sticky pin" - when entered, extremely sticky glue oozes out of the bottom of the machine, trapping the thief, who must then make a getaway in his socks.

Or a "sticking pin" that pricks his/her finger and analyses DNA.

Or you legitimately don't have the money, but the thief doesn't believe you and keeps screaming at you to tell him the proper pin (cos naturally he knows of the low balance pin).

He gets annoyed at you constantly 'lying' (even though in reality you're not) so decides to give you a good kicking. Thanks balance pin!

This would be a variant of the "safety" pin ?
