Open Street Maps is a place where people can put up any experience they have on a minimal grid of geolocative agreement. Let's go inside and create a real open human body, composed of the opportunity to upload everyone's immediate personal experience of the body rather than someone's proprietary idea of what they think you should think of the body. This project could start with the pancreas in honor of Steve Jobs.

I dislike the idea of opportunistically tying in with someone's death - bit of a morbid (tasteless?) way to promote an idea, no?

Also, it gets in the way of the explanation of what your idea is - What is your idea? Are you suggesting an app that allows you to navigate a human body (one of those already exists) or are you suggesting we build a massive navigable body somewhere on Earth that can be pictured from space and then viewed via some mapping application - or something else? It's not clear as currently written. What is a "minimal grid of geolocative agreement", and how do you "go inside" one of them?

I think I get it. It's a body that you can zoom in on and people can create pointing tags like Google Earth expounding on their experiences of those organs. Would be a mess to manage, however.

Is this tilted toward anonymous hypochondriacal braggadocio, or HIPAA medical records?

//morbid (tasteless?)// at least the poster didn't mention "shovel-ready Jobs"

This I like! The belly-button could be tagged with numerous photos representing the full spectrum of human navels. You could immediately check if your weird dimply knuckle was unique. There would be unlimitless possibilities!

On the other hand, tagging things like anaemia or muscular dystrophy would require some thought.

I see it degenerating into a philosophy blog site with all the navel-gazing.
