A small device to store CDs, the same size as a CD-ROM drive, could be fitted into a spare drive bay on the front of your pc.
It would be able to store CDs in simple little sleeves that you could pull out to gain access to discs. Would hold 10-20 CDs.

Perfect storage for CDs that keeps them neatly tidied away with no need for space-consuming CD towers and stacks of cases.

What does *that* have to do with anything?

I actually like this idea. At work where I do listen to CD's via pc, my unplayed are usually stacked in a messy pile, that has a tendency to throw itself on the floor whenever I move something on my desk. For that reason, I +
