Old Head, New Shiny Shaft

nail/screw variation

Sometimes a repair to an old piece of furniture or floor- board requires the replacement of an aged screw or nail.

New ones are out of character, old ones that are either straight enough, or strong enough to be useable are hard to find.

This is the logic behind the Old Head, New Shiny Shaft range. All of the screw or nail heads are individually rusted, subtly bruised and aged to be full of character, but the shafts underneath are shiny, strong and perfect. (just like me in fact)

Nice idea, though if you leave them out in the weather for awhile, they will look old, but still work just fine. +

"Restoration hardware" fasteners come in various finishes. If you need to match closely, you may need to work each bolt individually, after you've installed it.
