Occam's Tweezers

Logic tools for the new millenium

Occam might have kept his tonsure trim with a razor, but plucking and waxing are the names of the games now. When's the last time anyone used a cutthroat for goodness sake?

Tweezers are more feminine; single stroked for microscopic pedantry and so much better for fuzzy logic.

For more forceful intellectual requirements - "can't see the wood for the trees"? Wax them all!

So, exactly what does this mean? Apply little common senses to small arguments and minute, everyday conundra?

<pedant>Occam's razor is not really a logic tool. It's just a rule of thumb, useful in some situations but counter-productive in others.</pedant>

The modern version would be Occam's Razr, Shirley.

[Voice] I beg to differ. This is an extrapolation and conjoining of disparate concepts, modernising and extending at the same time. As does the hullaballoon for example, with balloon and conveyor belt.
