Nose Net
Keeps bugs from flying up your nose | |
Where I live (New England) we have a sometimes prolonged bug season in the spring. The little black flies are vicious little attackers. My least favorite of their activities is when they fly up my nose.
Now, I hate insect repellant, and I do have a fishermans net that covers my head, but that
can get hot and uncomfortable. I can put up with a lot from these bugs, except for their nasal explorations. So, I propose a Nose Net to be worn while in the yard doing the gardening, hanging the laundry, and so forth. I picture it as a tiny net shower-cap-like item, with elastic around the edges to hold it in place. Usually white, but could be made in red for the times you feel like clowning around. This should keep the black flies on the outside of the body, where they belong.

silly kaz, 2 of these nose nets intertwined are called an internet! |

oh, okey dokey. I still don't get it :P |

At first I thought this was a net that mounts in your nostrils, but luckily it's something much more comfortable. Damn flies/ skeeters. |
|
|
Still, if you've got enough nose hair, why not weave it into a net? |

Just breathe through your mouth. |

for a practical fix, just grab one of those cheap anti-fume face-masks. Although they're a little stuffy. |
|
|
Do you plan on keeping it on with an elastic band around the head? Unless your nose is a really odd shape, I can't picture it staying in place, and if it did, the elastic would collapse your nostrils. Perhaps a clip-on attachment for sunglasses. |

Damn. My plans to control all the teenage boys in the world using olfactory-based on-line pornography has been foiled. |

Olfactory-based online pornography? Ugh! |

Can we have versions with a much much finer mesh, for hayfever sufferers (and I'm suffering, trust me)? |
|
|
There are some anti-snoring devices that consist of two little rings of spring stainless steel joined by a u-shaped clip; sometimes they (lightly) grip the septum of the nose. they're designed to keep the nostrils dilated and imporve the airway. Adding a small piece of very fine mesh would do the trick although in combination with hayfever I suspect it would become a mighty fine bogey trap ...... |
