The Met, and presumably some other opera houses (though I have no firsthand knowledge of this) have succumbed some years ago, and installed LCD displays in the seats. The displays run English subtitles. Some initial grumbling has been replaced by gradual acceptance.
If we could get picture-in-picture
for those screens, the possibilities are endless:
1) Cure second act blues by checking in at the races
2) Plug in the game controller for a quick re-invigorating game of Tetris
3) Check your latest score on HalfBakery

I love the opera, but have been witness to less-than-enthusiastic audience members. I don't know about the Tetris though. The squirming and body english may be worse than the squirming we started with. A very nice idea. Check you LCD for the croissant I just tossed your way. |
