All Heroes have to have an Arch-Villain; Holmes has his Moriarty, Batman a whole army of enemies, and who would Bond be without Ernst Stavro Blofeld (who as everyone knows is merely a puppet of his Evil Fluffy White Cat).
And no Arch-Villain is happy without a Hero to oppose. Ming the Merciless would
feel lost without Flash Gordon, and Darth Vader would be very bored without the occasional light sabre duel with Ob-Wan or Luke.
But what if you haven't got either ?
Call for Nemesis Man !
Nemesis Man is neiter Good nor Evil. His Special Super Power is the ability to transform instantly into the exact Nemesis of the Hero or Villain who has summoned him, the thing they fear most. For Spider Man, he transforms into a giant woodpecker; for The Penguin, a killer whale. For James Bond, he's Government Cutbacks Out-Placement Officer, for Hannibal Lecter his new vegan dietician.
Nemesis Man is sometimes assisted by The Come-Uppance Kid and Bad End Girl (NB character title under review).
Ah, here we go...

Although the last thing I want to do is prematurely foil the
plans of my favorite arch-enemy, haven't we done this one
before? |

I just know that there's an arch support joke in there somewhere. |

[dbmag9] and ... who was it? |

Sorry [2fries], but your pun seems to have fallen a trifle flat-footed .... |

Isn't there a risk that this would become iterative,
with nemesis-nemesis man emerging at times of
crisis, followed by nemesis-nemesis-nemesis man? |
|
|
Also, what if it's a Lady? |
|
|
Nemesis is always a lady. Or anyway a female. |

Boggart! (see Harry Potter, "Prisoner of Azkaban") |
|
|
[notmarkflynn]...was that it? |
|
|
No, because Nemesis Man is like The Dread Pirate Roberts ... kind of a franchise operation. |
