Not a corruption of the venerable Games, mind you. Rather a graduation to the level of professional sports entertainment encompassing all the elements thereof: team franchises, televised Games-of-the-week, impact players, superstar salaries, merchandising and the rest.

I'm ready for it. America's ready for it. Give it to us.

PeterSealy — Reverence don't feed the bulldog, buddy. No, believe me, I wouldn't want to see the Games trivialized either. But I sure would like to see a bit of that great wash of pro-sports megacash make its way into the pockets of some hardscrabble gut-level competitors.

They're not really, other than being of Gaelic origin. Dancing is included in the Games, but not the community dancing featured in ceilidh.
