The music sponge is an inovative new music playing device. It is imbedded with pores, each one containing a microphone or a speaker. To play a track, set to play and squeeze the sponge. The music will "pour" out. You can delete tracks in real-time by setting the sponge to delete, and squeezing the
sponge, and the file will be "squeezed" out of the Music Sponge. Set to record and when the sponge is immersed in sound, it will soak it up until full, or until the user has changed the setting.

This is well within the bounds of current technology. I don't see where the magic is. |
If it is well within bounds of current technology then please explain how. |

Please explain the parts that you think are outwith the bounds of current technology. |

me too knutty, nice concept it may be.. |

You are imbedding a sponge with pores (more or the same ones it already had?). Then you put tiny speakers and microphones in the "pores" which, are connected how? Then, you set "it" to play. Again how? With what buttons? What's connected to what and how? When you squeeze it the music "pours out" how? Do the microphones and speakers drip out and get sucked back in? How? Why do you have microphones anyways? What sounds are you "immersing" it in? What is "soaking up" the sound and how? |

//You are imbedding a sponge with pores (more or the same ones it already had?). Then you put tiny speakers and microphones in the "pores" which, are connected how?// Using wires. The sponge surrounds an mp3 player. It is a synthetic sponge, they do exist now. |
//Then, you set "it" to play. Again how? With what buttons? What's connected to what and how?//
There is a dial on the exterior which can be set. It is attached to the central mp3 player via wires. |
//When you squeeze it the music "pours out" how?// The speakers play the music or sounds stored on the central mp3 player. |
//Why do you have microphones anyways?// To sample sounds in your environment, record conversations, etc. The same reasons other things have microphones. |
//What sounds are you "immersing" it in? What is "soaking up" the sound and how?// It is deemed to be immersed in sound when the sound level around the sponge reaches a pre-determined level, set by the user. The microphones are soakign up the sound in the same way that other microphones soak up sound. |

All within the bounds of current technology. |
All within the bounds of easy breakability. |
A trait prevalent in all electronic devices of a similar nature. |
Those tiny Mp3 players. Those headphones that fit inside the ear. Lapel microphones, et al. |
None of which you squeeze. |
But they are similarly breakable. Which happens infrequently, despite the best efforts of daily life. The fact that this is squeezable only helps with the "robustness". Perhaps you are forgetting that sponges are soft. |
