After initial cursing the touchpad on my laptop works well for me. I got so used to it that I now prefer it to a regular mouse. The problem is that the touchpad keeps only one finger busy while the others are bored. They can't even go elsewhere to do interesting things like exploring my sinuses. I would
like a slightly larger touchpad that has room for all five fingers of a hand. It will be difficult to cross fingers on a touchpad, so a smart decoder can figure out which touch is from which finger. Then I have nearly five times the input capacity at the tip of my fingers. It is "nearly" because there are certain combinations of moves that are physiologically just not possible. I have no idea yet what exactly to do with that input capacity, but with some training this could easily replace the keyboard and mouse. I would start with one finger and a keyboard as I do it now. After a while I will notice that the keyboard is collecting dust because the pad is sooo much faster.
