You know this is what the alien crop circles were, right?

Google Earth needs a new good mystery. Mow or grow a giant QR code into a field or garden somewhere that when scanned, leads to the coordinates of a random cemetery plot from the 18th century. Sit back and watch the theories take off.

Sorry - this is one of several examples of this already having been done https://www.dailyma...gers-candy-bar.html

Go longer term: bury some large rocks (in the QR pattern) in a fresh-plowed field (close to the surface). Then, when it's planted, the crops above the rocks won't grow as big.
You could use blocks of something (not a farmer...) that will leach out to chemically stunt the crops as well.
