Lets face it. Unless you are Michelangelo, your ceilings are probably bland. Ceilings are among the most undecorated parts of a room. The floor has (carpet, hardwood, something), furniture, and various objects. The walls are probably the most festive, having paintings, pictures, and many things.
Ceilings
have ceiling fans and lightbulbs. Which is worth nil in aesthetics.
The problems of decorating a ceiling is that, barring Michelangelo, you really cant do much. Maybe a few posters with unseemly tacks.
You cant do furniture, too heavy. You cant make little alcoves to stick items in, the items obey gravity and fall. And paintings, the frames arent made to hang from a ceiling.
So design a set of picture/painting frames with special hooks at the corners so you can put eyehooks in the ceiling and make yourself a Mona Lisa Ceiling.
This all comes from my attic entryway, which the entry door was painted to look like the ceiling, leaving what looks exactly like a picture frame.
(?) Ceiling Rose
http://www.dunstone...DUCTS/ROSE_532A.JPG available for ceilings. Doesn't make much sense in a new property, but doesn't look out of place in a high ceiling'd room. [calum, Nov 08 2005]
Tin Ceiling

I'm not getting this one Desert. Why can't you just slap em on with some nails? |

And leave ugly marks and holes in your beautiful picture frame? |

Not to mention direction! A
conventional painting will leave the
inhabitant standing the wrong way
about three quarters of the time. It
takes a keen artist to make directionless
art that's worth a damn. |

Instead: wall to wall mirrors on your ceiling, and, painted on your back and lily-white rump a perfect copy of the Mona Lisa, so that any willing partner you may coax back to your boudoir will be able to enjoy simultaneously your sexual prowess and a rippling, distorted, mirrored masterpiece. |
