Mock Thong

Provides the sexiness (trashiness?) of a thong with the comfort of traditional panties.

By sewing thong straps onto traditional (albeit low cut) panties, the user may choose to pull the staps up above her jeans in order to satisfy current bar fashion trends while maintaining the comfort of more conservative panties. Also, in case she is involuntarily a victim of the popular bar game, Ride The Bull, her delicates may escape the incident unscathed.

Panties, panties, panties.

       Just paint it on.

Despite long, hard searching I have been unable to find out about the bar game, "Ride the Bull", and how it might scathe ones delicates.

A better implementation of this idea would be to have velcro thong straps and attach them directly to the jeans. Any hilarity involving said straps would cause them to break away completely, analogous to the lizard losing the tip of its tail. Real panties, and delicates (if that is something different) would remain aloof and uninvolved.

Is that the style? I always assumed it was unintentional, mainly because it looks silly.
simonj, Jun 30 2004

It's designed to create an air of curiosity. "Wonder what she looks like without the pants." That sort of thing.

I'm not making that up - I read it in "Maxim," so it must be true.

Sorry, I have to fishbone anything that would result in a decrease in the wearing of thongs.

Whereas I have to encroissant anything which would result in a decrease in the wearing of thongs.

Bliss, it's called a "wedgie", at least where I'm from (California). Evidently derived fromt he concept of having your undergarments "wedged" up.
5th Earth, Jun 30 2004

In the Mid West US they were called Wedgies. Funny how down in Florida once I could buy a Wedgy for $2.50. It was a blended Ice Cream shake there.
macncheesy, Jun 30 2004

[macncheesy]- Where in Florida? I grew up there and we always used "wedgie" in the undergarment issue sense. I lived there for quite a while, and never once heard "wedgie" as a ice cream beverage.

There are places in Yorkshire called Netherthong and Upperthong (linky). Just thought you'd like to know.
angel, Jul 01 2004

And one in Kent just called Thong.
unclepete, Jul 01 2004

       Don't forget Thongsbridge.

Wait, I think we're on to something. The thong thing is alright, but what about break-away faux-undergarment-tops for picked-on school kids? The guys sneaks up behind you, grabs, pulls, and by the time he realized that he merely disconnected the fake top via velco, you're long gone.

       ...and Thonglands, in Shropshire.

"What a nice thong!" "Yeth, it wath written by Elvith Prethley."

[ooys]- I think they have that kind of thing for strippers.

All elth failth, thay it with a thong.

Welcome to the bakery, junkfunnel. (WTAGIPBAN)

This exact idea was in the London Lite just the other day - no jest.
zen_tom, Apr 20 2009

weird... I always assumed that at least some of the visible thong straps were part of a more elaborate pair of panties, not necessarily the standard string-thing... guess I should be taking random samples more.
