What is miniature Lego? Well, it's like
Lego,
but smaller.
In the same way that, as a
child, you 'graduate' from Duplo to Lego
as your co-ordination improves, you
could
move onto miniature lego as your wish to
create more complex models without
taking over the dining room table grows.
Tweasers
and magnifying glasses
available
for use with the smaller pieces.
Brushed aluminum pieces available for
those that want to be cool.

Lovely idea.
The tolerances Lego is made to are already pretty unbelievable so the finer tolerances mini-Lego would need might present some manufacturing challenges, but nothing impossible. In the same way Duplo is compatible with Lego, mini-Lego should be compatible with Lego - for example by making the height of a mini-Lego block the same as a Lego plate (i.e. 1/3 the height of a Lego block). |

"In the same way Duplo is compatible

Exactly. I was going to go for half-scale. |

"...the finer tolerances mini-Lego would

If this proves to be a problem,
miniature Lego
would have to go for something like a
magnetic fixing with the pins at the top
acting as locators, or some machined
metal latch system. It would be a pity to
lose the simplicity of the original,
though and needing 'interface pieces' to
connect Lego to miniature Lego (µgo ?)
would be a pain. |

Oh yes! If compatible, could be used to 'finish' standard Lego models. I'd like a line of Space µgo please. |

would this lead on to nano lego? |
|
|
Croissant for the idea and for Tabs's renaming of it. |

|
Does this not turn into clay eventually? |
|
|
[phundug] No, subatomic particles. |
|
|
Likely not as painful to step on. (+) for that aspect. |
|
|
Atomic legos? Legos made out of a hundred atoms only? |
