A simple hose attachment to a strimmer would ensure that the strimmed area is freshly watered as well as neatly shorn. Also, a strimmer looks a bit like a metal detector so by combining them the area is strimmed, watered, and the strimmer operator can keep any money, buried treasure, etc. that the metal
detector finds.
One of those flame things that people use for burning off weeds on their driveways could be combined too, but this might be going a bit far.

Here's a pretty good discussion of convertible trimmers that will prune, edge, brushcut, blow, vacuum, cultivate, mulch, and even throw snow, as well as trim. They seem particularly keen on the Ryobi and Homelite brands. I note, however, that none of them seem equipped to water the lawn or even detect metal sprinkler heads, let alone flame ants or disperse weed killer. Perhaps those features are being saved for Gen2. We can only think that the combination of a flame-gun and a sprinkler would be - at best - somewhat unhelpful, unless you wanted to steam-clean your weeds as you cut them .... |

Thanks, Rods...I had never heard the term "strimmer" before, was wondering what it was. For those in the same boat, a Strimmer is what is more commonly known in the US as a "Weed Wacker" (also a trademark, I suspect). |

I rather like this -- when a set of gloves becomes so grime-caked as to render the fingers inflexible one can just leave them swinging on the Mighty Combo garden tool's grippers! |

I thought this was going to be about a Swiss Army Knife-like tool for gardening implements. You have a 2 1/2 foot long main unit which has a flip-out spade, hoe, edging tool, garden fork, rake (w/telescoping metal tines to cover a wide or narrow swath), and, of course, corkscrew. |
