A microwave, with an LCD television
replacing the normal glass window.
Ideally this would be tuned to a
channel showing very short
programmes.
When you
want to look at your food, you can
switch the display to the output
from
the in-microwave webcam which will
show your Ready Meal
for One, only
slightly bigger, and with better
colour.

I wonder if the microwaves would disrupt the LCD display? |
As for the webcam, I personally wouldn't want all that melted plastic and the sparks generated from the metallic components in the cam. |
But interesting thought! + |
sitting in front of a microondas is bad for you. Didnt your madre tell you anything? |
Centauri suggested this on my old (now deleted) shifting mesh microwave window idea. |
[v0rtexx] - mmm, yes, I had
envisaged a non-exploding,
microwave-safe webcam. If
the microwaves did disrupt the
display, it could be used to show
where the 'hotspots' of microwave
radiation are. |

you guys ever tried the lightbulb-in-tumbler-of-milk-in-microwave experiment? |
tis kinda groovy, the wee lightybulb lightys up! |

take a few grapes, slice them in half 99% but leave the two halves connected by a small piece of grape-skin, turn out the lights, and put them in the microwave ... i have no idea why they burst into flames, but they do... |
I never heard that, but I heard if you puncture a small hole in one end of a grape, and set it on a microwave tray that was oiled to make it slippery, and turn on the microwave, that the grape jet-propels across the tray. |

too much work for my taste. |
