You can get milk (and cream presumably) from any mammal. Haven't you ever wondered what mouse milk tastes like, or warthog milk? Just milk a whole lot of mice (the mechanics of this are left to the interested rodentologist) and make mice cream. You could come out with a sampler package - "ice cream
bars from selected mammals" - get to know our relatives in the animal kingdom in a new way...
The other variation on boring old ice cream I have heard of is roast beef ice cream with gravy on top... Somebody must have tried this who has an ice cream maker. Right up there with chicken beer for those homebrewers with too much imagination for their own good...

Reminds me of Church Summer Camp in '77 when I told some asswipes from Fresno - "Aaaah, go suck a mouse" after they got their hands coated in dirt and shaving cream which I'd applied to our cabin's doorknob beneath the unscrewed lightbulb in anticipation of their arrival.<commas>,,,,,</commas> |

Did you have many friends when you were young, [thumbwax] ? |
Lame and a WIBNI. How would you get the bucket underneath them? |
Very very small milking machine ? No need for a bucket, then. |

If it was operated by clockwork and actually, really worked I could vote for that. |

Given that most ice cream is artificially flavored, you would actually only need a very small sample of mouse milk to generate a product. More to the point, why not just come up with some strange flavor (camomile and paprika, say), and market it as mice cream? Nesquik did very well using a rabbit to sell powdered flavoring for milk. Now, what mouse image could we use here...? |

I don't think there is any more to this idea than a dumb pun, however. |
[wayne606] why don't you go smoke another? |
I was thinking "mouse flavoured ice cream"....nice for the kitties..... |
I'm with wayne606 - I think this is a great idea. We should all be more adventurous in our experiences with dairy products. After all, we have goat's cheese, don't we? |

Only thing is, you'd need an awful lot of mice. Although I suppose you could farm them. And maybe use specially trained (and probably muzzled) mouse-cats to round them up for milking in the morning. I wonder what you would call the farmhands, though? Mouseherds? Mouseboys? Definite potential. |

I'd give a rat's ass for rat ham. |

//Did you have many friends when you were young// Yeah, these guys were from a city 60 miles from ours - they were threatening us earlier, so I turned the tables on 'em by making 'em out to be a joke. Chumps. |

Which cut do you want, [Farmer]? Butt or rump? |

...you mean it's NOT made with rabbits? (gasp!)... |
By the looks of it we'll be discussing this until the mice come home. |

[lostdog] - Mouse Wranglers (uh-oh, that brings to mind tiny denim jeans) |
[dalek] - I think the rabbit in the Nesquik ads refers to the convenience of making milk into chocolate milk quickly, as in "quick like a bunny." |
[lostdog] Can there be any other... Mouseketeers!!! |
You mean mousekabobs ... I have this great cookbook (which I am too lazy to find and tell you the name of) that has these pictures of beautifully prepared yet gross foods. Mousekabobs, frog burgers, newt soup, salad sprinkled with beetles... Great stuff. |
[BinaryCookies] I think this is well clear of being just a pun and the [mfd] should be removed. |

Comparing this idea and 'cocktail mice' once again reveals the subtle difference in response due to presentation between a nearly serious idea and a clearly ludicrous one. |
Would I just grab the mouse and wring it like a flannel to get the milk? |

Bart discovered that the school milk was coming from rats & Mayor Quimby was being paid off to keep quiet. |

Have you ever TASTED your mother's milk (after being a baby of course) - its just disgusting! Why do babies drink it? Why do mothers force it on babies? |

Formula tastes much nicer. |

Clearly, you have issues to work on. Personally I think formula sucks while breast milk is succulent. |
formula 1 is growing on me thanks to ato_de |

Formula 409 is handy as well, but I don't know how it tastes and don't care to find out. |
