A biomechanical façade skin [see: theo jansen beach animals] coupled with an ad hoc peer to peer self-configuring wireless network [see: Robin Chase: Getting cars off the road and data into the skies].

The skin is monitored for real-time positional, humidity and temperature information. The skin can be controlled to maximize flows. For example inflows can be restricted such that the interior is always under positive pressure even while major openings exist in the skin [an entry, a window, a terrace].

Imagine a high-rise urban dwelling always 'open' to the natural world.

is this one of those things where you can take a dump and the floor absorbs and cleans it up ? if so send me one, if not.... umm don't go in the living room for a while.

You make me imagine a 'scale' that opens and swarms all over building .

Maybe a tiny remote controlled car that grips to the side of a building with magnetic wheels . The car carries a tile with an adjustable angle . A whole lot of cars on different frequencies would give you what you want .

[FT] There could be an exterior poop-deck.

[wjt] The RCscale could automatically return to a service area for regular maintenance.
