Masochist's Force-Feedback Eyewear

Got a masochistic streak? Now you can violently punish yourself while playing videogames!

It's a pair of chunky plastic wraparound glasses, that mask all outside light sources from the user. These glasses are linked to the SCART port of a videogame console, and monitor the amount of contrast and brightness being displayed on the screen. You would have a personal, individual view of the action, but there's more.. For the masochists out there, the glasses pump different strengths of light right into your iris, depending on how garish the colours on screen are. For a game like Quake, there wouldn't be much feedback, but with a game with insanely bright, happy colours like Puyo Pop or Parappa the Rapper, the user would instantly fall to the floor, clutching desperately at the glasses as watt after watt of pulsating, painful light pollution penetrated their corneas.

I'm useless on the technical side of this, so i've probably mis-used terms like 'SCART', but i thought the idea was more important than the description.

Do we have an S&M category?

There's nothing masochistic about wanting to have your retinas burnt out. Self-destructive maybe but not masochistic. This idea would be more suited to a real torture chamber. Fishbone.

So this is really bright stereovision glasses? If this is a legitimate invention, can I present my idea for masochistic TV sets, light bulbs, digital watches, microwave ovens, toasters, keyrings, dog collars, snow globes and waffle irons?

Not forgetting the {{strobe}} alarm clock.
