Make December the shortest month.

Enough is enough!

The last two weeks of December are pretty useless if you want to get anything done besides shop. People are lollygagging at home, going to the mall, flying to see family, feigning illness, etc etc. Mass hooky is fine for France, but in America I think 5 days of vacation is quite enough.

I propose that December be made the shortest month - 26 days long. The days would be given to February and a couple of the 30 day months. This way, Christmas (which seems pretty inflexible as regards the date) will fall on 12/25, immediately followed by New years. Chances are a weekend will be before or after - if not, there is an extra monday or friday in there to make 5. And there you go: done with holidays and back to work. Work I said! Work harder!

Good God, man, do you want to bring Western Civilization to its knees? Most of the real work done by individuals for themselves, is done between Xmas and NewYears!

       Fie on your shellfish idea!

This idea is the most obvious candidate for 'bones since "GIMME A FISH!". What were you thinking [bung]?

The only person in world who would endorse this awful idea is John Howard! And who the hell wants to be grouped with him?

I say make December 24 days long, and make January start on the 2nd.
MaxwellBuchanan, Dec 26 2016

^ So the intervening 8 days would have to have a name. Insanuary.
whatrock, Dec 26 2016

No, I don't want any intervening days. If we can't adjust the Earth's orbit to compensate, then throw in some extra days in June or July.
MaxwellBuchanan, Dec 26 2016

// adjust the Earth's orbit to compensate //

That's easy enough ... why not adjust the orbit to be 360 days, and tweak the moon's cycle to 30 days ? OK, so solar eclipses will be reduced, but think of the benefits ...
