Did you get the license plate number of that truck? Can you read what that sign up ahead says? If not, that's no problem. Just activate the magnifying windshield and see things as far as the horizon.
The windshield is made up of a dual-pane flexible polymer that can bend and contract in order to refract
the images ahead of you. When the driver activates it using the handy-dandy lever on the center of the dash, he can dial in the magnification settings to his preference. The flexing of the panes is completely transparent to the driver except for the magnified view.
Something like this ought to do the trick.

I like this, it would be like the viewscreen on the Enterprise. |

//And that, I can say after a very extensive internet search, is most definitely not baked.// And I can say, after a not-very extensive brain search, that it is.
Anyone remember the spectacles that could be customised by filling or emptying the space between their lenses' hollow, flexible surfaces with a clear liquid? |

I'd be worried about using this on a sunny day - or leaving it parked and them coming back to find a smoking ruin - could this be a ploy by revenge motivated insects? |

+ better than putting on glasses! |

Steven Wright did a bit on this - "Oh my God! Look at the
size of that guy's head!" |

The polymer would scratch quickly. That's why all
windscreens have glass coatings. |

Also, judging actual distance is pretty important to driving. |

Or they very well could appear closer than they are. |
