Instead of a sprocket and chain, what about a short, negatively charged magnetic disc around which a positively charged "belt" is fastened. This would eliminate the need for a cam chain tensioner, lessen weight?, and seemingly would transmit power more efficiently.

Ok I know what a cam is and I know what tension is so I have a rough idea what a "cam chain tensioner" does. But could you describe your design in a little more detail? I'm having trouble visualizing what your talking about |
