Lottery Metaphors
All Lotto ads must be accompanied (a la cigs) with metaphorical warnings | |
For example: "Playing the Lotto is like giving me a dollar for
every grain of sand you pick blindfolded off Highway 1 until
you get the one we painted blue" or "Name a second in the
last 400 years" As half pointed out, many tickets urge one to
"play responsibly." But Lotto is about the imagination,
so I
suggest the warnings should be as visual as the Rolex and
harem.
Use Bizarre Metaphors

They should just let William Hill advertise on the back. |

This is actually a simile rather than a metaphor - due to the use of the term "like".

I've always thought they should use the following slogan :
"You almost certainly won't win but at least you'll have a focal point for discussing how much better you think your life would be if you were rich". I can't think of a visual equivalent though. |

I can certainly see where you're coming from on this ... I think the odds of me bunning this are moderate. |

Lotto: Pay a pound, be momentarily distracted from your government's incompetence at managing the income from your taxes. |

I'm surprised I've never seen this on a lottery ticket:
"Odds of winning may drastically improve by purchasing more tickets." |
