A software that creates a virtual replica of our local cluster of
stars
and draws lines between the stars allowing the user to appreciate
the geometry created by the lines by flying through it.
It would also allow you to hold your phone up to the sky and see
the stars with the lines between
them exaggerated in 3D so you
can get a sense of the relationships between them and visualize
yourself as more inside the shapes that the stars create.
You could also print out a model of the local cluster with the lines
between them on a 3D printer so blind people can get a sense of
our local cluster home's structure.

I believe you're line to me ... |

Mentally travelling through askewed platonic solids, not really organic enough for me. |

How many stars do you consider to be "local"? If it's only the nearest 1000, that's still 499,500 lines. |

So, taking " 88 lines about 44 women " to the extreme then ... |

near enough so that the geometry created by the connections
between the stars would be understandable by us, like
splitting the sky into 12 zodiac signs. So if a blind person was
trying to feel the configuration this shape would be
figureoutable. So maybe like the nearst 10 or 20 stars. |

Have we checked with any blind people on this one? |

Yeah, if you draw a line between all stars. But if you drew a
line between each star and it's 4 to 8 nearest neighbors, you
could have a very manageable situation. Apply some
dimming to lines in the distance. That could be slightly
interesting to see for perspective. It would be good to be
able to zoom out and view the local star clump in relation
to part or all of the galaxy, then zoom out further to get a
connected view of nearby galaxies. |

The scatter of stars and galaxies is Chaotic (in the strict mathematical sense) so altho this might look pretty, it's not actually useful in any way. |

With modern technology half a million lines is manageable, you just can't display them all without the whole screen being line colored. |
