Living Hat
A wide brim hat filled with flowers that grow. | |
This hat is made of straw or other lightweight material. The brim is wide, curved upwards and lined with plastic. Add the peat moss and potting soil up to the brim edge, then plant shallow rooted, low growing flowers such as allysium, petunias and dianthus. These flowers like lots of sun so wear it outside
often and only water when the soil is dry. Caution, do not bend over while wearing this hat. Thanks for beautifying the landscape.

Ah! Reminds me of my grandmother’s brim garden. She’d say, “sonny, get me my hat,” and I’d stagger under the weight of the thing. It was all right at first, when she just had the daffodils. But then the Bonsai, and later on when she wasn’t thinking as clearly, she planted the oaks. Live oaks that grew and grew and had Spanish moss hanging down. She’d say bring me my hat and I’d run and hide under the house. |

I agree with DesetFox- I think it would get heavy. And ugly. You would need to always be transplanting a blooming floral display. Too much work for something that just keeps the sun out of your eyes. |
