Golf simulation on a very small planet.

As many of you probably know, The Little Prince was a story about a prince who lived on a very, very small planet, with a volcano and a flower. This idea is simply to have a golf game that is set on such a planet. For an added dimension, you could make the course extend over an entire (very small) solar system, with each hole on a different planet. You have to tee off from the last planet, and judge it just right to hit the next planet as it flies by in its orbit.

       Don't hit the flower.

Don't hit to the Clangers' planet though, those soup filled bunkers are hell...

Escape velocity would probably be low enough to make it rather easy to lose balls. You could obviate this by increasing the ball's mass although the danger of high-mass golf balls in low (say, 3 feet above the ground) orbits should not be dismissed.

The low gravity would make 5000 mile drives possible. Of course, if you hook one into the rough, it's not coming back.

I can see it now...Whack the ball, ball enters low orbit...hits golfer in the back of the head...

I own a few acres of the moon if anyone's got any clubs....

You could aim for the black holes... you might have some problems marking them with a pin though.

[wagster] ...and one hell of a drive.

Ooooooh, so THAT'S what meteor showers are--golf balls from space entering Earth's orbit. No one ever mentioned this in astronomy class.

The good thing about black holes as a hole is that you only have to hit the ball in the general direction of them
eulachon, Aug 10 2004

You probably couldn't make this work with just gravity, but suppose you found a bunch of magnetic planets? And golf balls having an iron core?

Kudos for bringing together golf and The Little Prince.

Bone for bringing together St Exupéry and golf.

You could consider 'Death Star Battles' (link) a version of this game, of sorts. If by 'ball' you mean 'missile', and by 'hole' you mean 'opponent's death star'.
