Liquid Bacon
Spread a few dollups of this new condiment to jazz up any meal. | |
Bacon makes everything better - that is a medical fact. I propose a bacon spread or liquid that contains all the delicious taste of bacon without the frying mess. Nothing like Baco's or nasty bacon bits - I'm thinking real liquid bacon!
I imagine it liquid you could sprinkle on like hot-sauce,
but with the smokey goodness of pork. Fried bacon would be pulverized, and added to a liquid base. Since bacon has lots of fat, might have to be shaken to mix with the fat, like salad dressing.
Liquid bacon could be used to jazz up lots of different types of meals, sandwiches, etc. Could even be added to mixed drinks - imagine a bacon martini (shaken, not stirred). Bacon milk instead of chocolate milk. Bacon celery. Hell, you could even sip the stuff straight- right from a shot glass. Might become a popular non-alcoholic beverage. Better yet, bacon beer!

disgusting! sounds like a cross between mechanically reclaimed meat, meat paste and Bovril. |
There is a "liquid smoke* flavor that is very similar, but I kind of like your *medical facts*, so here's a bacon flavoured bun.((+)) |
Couldn't you just save the "juices" from frying bacon? |
Juices would be too burnt-tasting, presumably. |
I like the idea of liquid bacon, but I'm not really seeing a mechanism for how this would be done (esters, fat/emulsifier, other way). I'm withholding my vote. |
Shapu - let me answer your question - you take bacon, fry it, put it in a blender - set it to "mulch" or the appropriate setting, add a bit of water, perhaps a drop of liquid smoke, then bottle. |
Galbinus, that would be totally disgusting - that is just fat - good fat, but just fat nontheless. You need a dollop of good animal protein in their from our swine-friends to be able to call it liquid bacon. |
Xandram - "Medical Fact" is something my buddies and I used to describe anything that could potentially be true (or maybe not). It started with the proposition that if you sneezed with your eyes open, your eyeballs would pop out - it's a medical fact. It went on from their to encompass many a ludicrous statement. |

Bunnage-defecit correction has taken place ! |
Thanks [trekbody] I'll have to add that to my repertoire! |
[trekbody]: Thanks for the explanation. One crispity-crunchity bacon-buttery bun. |
From [xandram]'s list, I want to know what "Natural Rotisserie Roast Beef WONF" is. |
Well - I will give that that "flavoring" exists - but I have never seen it bottled for retail - so I hope I'm still eligable for some buns. And I'm not sure I want to know what "Natural Rotisserie Roast Beef WONF is. |

"I'm never gonna get used to the thirty-first century. Caffeinated bacon? Baconated grapefruit? Admiral Crunch?" |
hey guys, I don't know what that is either, that site doesn't really explain the stuff very well, but we could make somthing up..... |
So, what would the Canadian version be like? |
Very friendly and polite, I would imagine. |

Liquidised meat, in drinks form, are not
new to the bakery. Was on of my first
ideas, but found it to be inexistence
already - see link |

Funny, I always pictured soylent green as little crackers. |
Did I say Soylent Green? I meant Mountain Dew... |
"Mountain Dew is URINE! It's URINE!" |
Xenxag - I appreciate your previous liquid meat idea, but Liquid Bacon cannot be lumped into such a nebulous category. You could then have abominations like Liquid Tripe and the like. Liquid Bacon stands as real bacon does, in a class of it's own. |
Plus bacon is loaded with vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and Omega-3 fatty acids - it's hypoallergenic, cholesterol free, and has no calories. |
Galbinus - if I was drinking Mountain Dew when I read your line it would have been coming out of my nose. : ) |
Then my work here is done. |
