* ball shaped helium balloon

* with underside ribbons that hold the underside of the hollow snowball which surrounds the snowball.

* perhaps some "spokes" will be needed along the external envelope of the balloon so that the snow "sticks" [your suggestions for alternatives are welcome] Three of these balloons would be used one above the other, and balancing them might be tricky, especially with the carrot nose, but it could work. No?

       [+] no other materials: just a hollow ice spheres, with snow surface (or just plain clear ice)... could work. And a carrot.

       How does one make a hollow snowball?
blissmiss, Jun 24 2015

       You just make a normal snowball but leave out the snow in the middle.

       Impossible, she screamed.

       Weld two igloos together, base to base.

       It would work if it were large enough.

       As anybody who's tried to scrape 1cm of ice off a windshield will tell you, ice can be pretty strong stuff. A 2-3m sphere should hold together without problem.

       finally some good feedback on a serious idea of mine...

       I'm hoping some day you'll like one of my ideas...

       5.4 kg for StaroStar. 2.5 ft in diameter.

       But the problem "arises" when the balloon goes up - it grows four times its size.
