Similar to cell phone keys which are back lighted. Sometimes I work on my PC in the dark (like now). it would be good to have a keyboard with the keys light up, instead of depending on light from the monitor. ...maybe i should work on why I feel the need to work in the dark.

Or, if you didn't want to buy a new keyboard, someone could make a set of stickers to put over your keycaps that glow with the addition of a little blacklight.

I'm fairly sure it's bad for your eyes to use a computer in the dark.

Baked? They're not back lighted but a lot of laptops come with small lights above the screen specifically so you can seen the keyboard (the IBM T20 springs to mind)

The Nite Surfer has a laptop verison as well. Looks quite useful.

This one's a frequent repeat here.

I'll say this is pretty baked.

With just a screwdriver, some EL light stripping (see link), a little time and ingenuity you can make your keys lighted.

The lighted keys concept could be extended to individually lighted keys under computer control. I claim this would have a niche market in instructional uses. Consider a computer with audio output and a keyboard lighted in this sense. Picture a preliterate user using the system to learn literacy and the computer together.
