Have you ever been motoring down a country lane and cross a bridge and notice the thousands of pounds of fishing lures, hooks, bobbers, floats and sinkers trapped in the telephone lines and tree branches???

Well, Le Snapper Snipper has a pair of scissors on the far end of a 10 meter pole with a small wicker catch-basket just below the scissors.

Get it? snip snip? catch the lure?? cast cast??

BANGERS AND SNAPPER FOR DINNER!!!

To be honest, no. Is this fishing tackle that fisherman have accidentally cast into the trees? And is it thousands of pounds in money or in weight? If so, how strong are the trees where you live; or how dumb are the local fishermen?

       money. duh.

Ah, right. Duh. Local fisherman are that dumb, then.

       Wait! Are you in Shropshire?

Hmmm. Better be pretty sure those overhead lines aren't power cables.

Some "Roach poles" are made of carbon fibre. Which is very conductive. Long, conductive pole wielded by short conductive fisherman in vicinity of HT power lines - brief, spectacular, difficult to ignore (Brilliant blue flash, loud bang, cloud of smoke).

Given that the person who took that photo seems to be slightly above and about 2 feet away from the accumulated fishing tackle, one has to wonder if a pole would be strictly necessary.

Also, who eats sausages with snapper? Is it a sort of downmarket surf 'n' turf?
MaxwellBuchanan, Jul 01 2016

I meant snapper and mash. (oops) also, ever heard of a telephoto lens?

       Completely impossible.

Something about the way light bends when it changes media. (Air to glass, glass to air) I didn't believe it either.

It's a complete myth. As for "telephoto" - the word is a vulgar hybrid of Greek and Latin: no good can come of it.

Yeah... they'd use something like that to make a dagger o' type
