Latte Foam Art Pendulum

Creates very complicated latte foam art with a simple finger push.

A little pendulum you set atop a cup of coffee with foam at the top, the tip of which extends into the foam.

It works just a like a sand art pendulum only with latte foam.

Alternately could just have a little container of cream adding a design like in the second link.

Do this only with cream. https://www.youtube...watch?v=ChzovTAt5tY
No reason you couldn't do both. [doctorremulac3, Feb 26 2023]

Why have one degree of freedom, when you can have two? Gives more complex patterns. [neutrinos_shadow, Feb 26 2023]

Actually I’ll just buy one of these. https://a.co/d/dPdRQqc
Shorten the pendulum a little. Why bother changing anything? It’s already made. [doctorremulac3, Feb 27 2023]

I don't drink coffee, but this is pretty cool. Also see linky.

Cool links neut. I was thinking of adding two or 3 points so it wouldn't have to swing as much to get a bunch of patterns.

I'm making a prototype of this. I'm going to add an upper counter balance piece and experiment with getting more mass so it'll swing longer. Hard to explain, I'll post a video when it's done.

       Further thought I just had;
Given the "low res" nature of the medium, putting a lot of damping in the hinge(s) would probably be a good idea, so it works it's way to the middle reasonably quickly. HOW much will require experimentation. A big adjustable air-paddle might be the go.

Yea, I was thinking I'd need to balance it with a counter pendulum at the top so it made bigger / wider (although slower) movements. I think only having a little pendulum would just make an ever widening line that sort of twisted.

I think the counter pendulum (or whatever you'd call it) will work though.

Actually I see Amazon sells an already made sand pendulum for just $20 I’ll just buy one of those and play around with it. Shorten the string to make room for the cup and let it go. The platform for the cups’s even already there. (link)

Why change anything? They’re already for sale, ready to go, just stick a cup af latte where the sand was supposed to go.

Okay, just ordered it. Rather than having a big tall pendulum sitting on the rim of the cup, (the original design might have been pretty top heavy, although I still might try that out) I'll just take an off the shelf one and make the cable adjustable for the size of the cup being decorated.

Being adjustable for the height of the cup of coffee might make it more patentable as well.

I think this is gonna work. I'll post pictures.
