While I was posting my loudspeaker plunger idea [1], I realized that a simplified version would
also be useful. When the toilet bowl is full with toilet paper, a regular toilet plunger is not as
useful, because it's obstructed from getting to the bottom of the bowl to form a seal.
Proposed is
simply a wide rubber diaphragm that seals to the rim of the bowl, as in the linked
idea, with a handle extending from the top. You just seal it to the rim of the toilet and plunge as
usual. This is a cheaper alternative the loudspeaker plunger that keeps its advantage over
regular plungers of not having to reach the bottom of the bowl and form a seal there.

I foresee a problem. Unless the aforementioned
bowl is very, very full, you will be compressing a
large volume of air by a finite distance, which means
you won't create a lot of pressure to shift the, ah,
obstruction. |

You can scoop out anything in the bowl, if you must.. |

The purpose of the plunger is usually to pull the plug of stuff back out from down below. not to push it any where. |
