Keyless Entry for Bicycles

For easier and quicker release from the bike rack.

I hate the time it takes to lock up a bike properly... and then to unwrap the chain/cable and stow it when it's time to leave. When it's cold, wet, or both, it can be a real pain in the ass. It seems to me that there should be a way to incorporate a quick-release lock into the frame itself. There's been a few goes at that in this category already, such as "Bike Lock" and "Self Locking Bike" but here's my college try:

I propose two methods of implementing a keyless entry system for bicycles into the bike itself. Either or both could be installed.

The first is modified bar ends (see link if you don't know what those are) welded to the handlebar with a circular lock on them. You push the circle around a bar (these would probably require modified bike racks) and it instantly snaps locked. When you return, push a button on your fob and it snaps open. Pull the bike out of the rack, and you're good to go.

The second has a lance-like attachment that bolts around the stem (again, see link). This would jut straight out from the stem and have a claw on the end. Push it against the bar on the rack, and it snaps shut. This one is probably the better way to go.

When you're ready to go, use a fob to quickly release it and ride off into the sunset.

I don't like the fact that modified bike racks are needed - I like being able to lock my bike anywhere. A good idea otherwise.

This could be done using image recognition and a camera recessed into the saddle. Iris recognition seems to work, so..

If you're using the stem method, all you need is a good kickstand, because it could grab existing rack bars.

If the lock mechanism is being activated/deactivated by a remote control fob, then we can also add other security features, controlled similarly...

A remote control alarm, which activates a battery powered siren on the bike.

Some mechanism which locks and unlocks the steering angle, the pedals, and the brakes.
