Just as it sounds, one wall of your living room has a massive hole it leading to a densely planted jungle. Now terrarium rooms are already a thing, but they're typically sealed off with glass so you don't have the crawly wildlife permeating your living room. The idea here is to have the two areas adjacent
to each other but made practical by positive overpressure in the living room causing airflow from the dry, comfortable living room to the appropriately humidified jungle.
The way the air wall would work is that the dry air from the living room would be sucked into a neutral zone of sorts with both outlets and returns and be blown in a continuous vortex, dehumidifiers added as necessary to keep the living room side of the airwall comfortable. Any bleed through from the dry room side would be conditioned as necessary.
The room itself is a greenhouse, complete with the heat and humidity needed to keep the jungle flora and fauna happy. The enclosing glass would be green to add to the effect. (see link)
You could have colorful birds, even furry critters happily living there because there would be other impediments to them leaving the jungle room and getting into the rest of the house, some of them being active such as air walls, water sprayers, sonic repellents etc.
Of course, sliding glass window could be shut to save energy, but when you feel like relaxing next to a jungle just open them up and turn on the airflow and other system wildlife / atmosphere separation systems. I'd populate it with noisy jungle creatures to get the full effect when you wanted kick back on the couch to chill.
To be clear, this isn't just a room with plants, it's exactly what's in the picture and the idea is an air and other device containment system to keep the two climate zones separate.
