Iron Chef is broadcast (where I live) with the voices of the Chefs and commentators dubbed into English. Half (or more) of the fun of Iron Chef is the crappy overdubbing. I thing it would be even more hilarious if the Swedish dubbed version of the show was broadcast to English speaking markets, with
copious instances of "Bork bork bork!" thrown in.

Based on the few occasions I've seen "Iron Chef," I think it's better in Japanese than English. That said, a Swedish Chef version would be the funniest thing on TV since 6:30 PM last Thursday ("Boy Scoutz N Tha Hood" episode of "The Simpsons"). Croissant. |

With that, we could have a Statler/Waldorf combo in the bottom of the screen (a-la mystery science theater 3000 -- at least that's what I think the name is...) pitching insults at the chefs... |

Some friends and I were tossing this idea around a year ago. I think the way to do it isn't to dub, but to have the Muppet himself be "Iron Chef Swedish." |

Why not Muppets all around? The program would definitely have to feature the Muppet himself as the Iron Chef Swedish. Today's challenger is Bunsen (with his trusty assistant, Beaker). Tomorrow's challenger could be Animal. Statler and Waldorf could be among the celebrity judges, and their comments can be sought periodically during the preparation of the food. Kermit could be the emcee, with Miss piggy playing the role of that annoying woman who constantly interrupts the commentators to draw their attention to some urgently important technique or ingredient that has just been employed by the chefs. |

Curiously, this idea has made me realise that I visualise other halfbakers as Muppet/ Sesame Street characters... DrBob as Rowlf (the dog who plays the piano), Susen as Kermit, PeterSealy as Big Bird, AfroAssault as Animal (the drummer), UnaBubba as Oscar... |

This really cracked me up. I made my wife a CD recently and put a track of the Swedish Chef making "Chocolate Moose" right in the middle
of 80s dance and 40s Torch Songs. She loves it! |

I like bookworm's idea that Iron Chef Swedish is actually a choice of combatant for the challengers, but if you picked the Swedish Chef, the surprise ingredient would always be, "Cheecken!" |
