An extremely bright light kept behind the door fades up
to
full brightness slowly when people press the call bell.
The light(not the lamp), obviously should be visible from
the gaps surounding the door, or probably also from
windows.
Additions suggested:
1) [FlyingToaster] suggested mist
billowing out the door. Dry ice/water or commercial fog machine.
2) [MadnessInMyMethod] suggested the TARDIS sound for the call bell.
3) [theGem] suggested: a major sucking sound and end with the door and the knockers all being sucked into the "blah."

What makes the door interdimensional. In fact what does
interdimensional mean anyway? And where does the tunnel
come in. In my experience when I got to the point that I saw
the light at the end of the tunnel it turned out to be a train. |

[-] Right now the idea is kind of lights out for me. Sorry gotta
bone it. |

Dudes, Check the category, its for Halloween! :-P |
|
|
ah, then it should have mist billowing out the door as well (dry ice/water or commercial fog machine which is probably impossible to rent on Halloween). |
|
|
Yeah, you'd think building standards in the eighties were pathetic, huge gaping clearances everywhere. When exterior walls fall down, no insulation! If you can see light through an exterior door in all but a tropical climate you need a new door. |

Sorry I thought Halloween was on Oct 31. But I still have to
ask what makes the door interdimensional. In fact what does
interdimensional mean anyway? I'm dying to find out. I'll flip
it to neutral in anticipation. |

theGem: Its a usual scifi thriller movie effect: If a
door leads to another world/dimension/heaven/blah , it
is usually portrayed with an immense light leaking
from the border of the door. Just a catchy name. |
|
|
Can the associated doorbell make a TARDIS sound? |

[+] Thanks [k] In that light you might want to add a major
sucking sound and end with the door and the knockers all
being sucked into the "blah." |

I have an Intradimensional Door. I can rotate it though 90 degrees from x-plane to y-plane. |

I want a door like wagster's |
|
|
I have a door /like/ wagster's, but the planners didn't align my house to the universal x-axis. |
|
|
[Ian Tindale],[wagster]: This is not a dimension transposer. The universe is supposed to be some 10 or 11 dimensional according to some theories. And many SciFi stories take it that if you translate on some wierd dimension, you will reach anohter world/universe altogether.. |
