After spending several hours waiting for my SO to get a "mani" my thoughts turned to labor and time saving ways to get nail polish on.
Step 1. Specially formulated nail polish is applied to easy release vinyl sheet at nail polish factory.
Step 2. Nails are cleaned and cuticle trimmed at beauty shop
the same way its done now.
Step 3. Nail polish sheet is trimmed and applied to nail, and final trimming done.
Step 4. Nails are placed under UV lamp to harden polish.
note, I have seen decorations applied to nails in this way, but never full nail polish.

So how is that significantly faster? The application of liquid nail polish being about as fast as the application of the sheet, and the drying machine replaced by the curing machine. |

(If you haven't realized yet that your S.O. will *always* take an age to get ready, especially when it involves being pampered, you haven't been paying attention.) |

Alternatively, do away with nail polish altogether. It's a bit
of a silly time wasting affectation. |

[madradish] I tend to agree with you but you know...<</wrings hands helplessly>>

You could cut the finger tips off an old pair of rubber gloves and apply fresh colour from a spray can in seconds. |

It seems to me the nail polish would have a tendency to peel...much like "peel-off" nail polish used by the young'uns. |

I can see two big advantages to this if it were a system for home use
1) no spillage
2) no splodges all over the fingers
of course if you have it done by pros then that's not an issue. In that case, the woman in question would probably find another way to spend ages getting pampered. |
