Well, I suppose that pretty much sums it up. Obviously you'd either need a special coating to apply to the paper after printing, or special paper which holds the color and is waterproof, or a special waterproof ink in the inkjet cartridge. I'll leave the details to some brainiac in an R&D lab somewhere.

The massive waste of ink and the expense of printing it yourself would be offset by the artistic freedom you enjoy (much like home-printed photos and t-shirts today).

Websites devoted to new wallpaper designs would spring up overnight, no doubt. Heck, I'd bet that sites like the one for HGTV would just lap this stuff up.

I've found one place on the internet that's actually a reputable site, has good-quality products, and is a really good deal. [link]

In many trade shows, you'll see large signs which are individually machine-printed. I would think if someone wanted to paper a room with such, it would be feasible. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if some commercial businesses already do precisely that.
