It must be tough looking like a waiter seven days a week, three hundred and sixty five days a year. Penguins must feel like they're always on duty - forever stiffly attired in their Sunday best.
Arctic Hares and Foxes manage to have two very distinct coats - a dark one for summer, and a white one
for wintertime, when the snow falls. What I'm proposing is a similar kind of thing - maybe a Hawian shirt plumage for a couple of weeks in the Polar summer (if there is such a thing), or, more in keeping with the black-and-white motif that penguins seem to have made their own, perhaps a tracksuit-type colouring for a month or so. Just to give them a bit of a break so they can kick back and relax for a while, free from their normal ultra-formal Tuxedo-esque stylings.
