For those of you who buy ready-made furniture, it can be difficult sometimes to imagine the effect of the proposed new item in your house.
Some companies offer a virtual service whereby you can scan or somehow model your rooms, and inspect the new pieces in situ by looking at miniature goggle screens.
Other
companies may offer to deliver the pieces, for you to try, and offer the option to return them if they don't suit.
But no more! Our inflatable furniture samples allow you to try multiple sizes and colours in a single returnable package.
Inflate each sample in turn, and then position and re-position it in every possible position in each of your rooms.
When you have finished experimenting, deflate the samples and return them in the original packaging, and confidently place your order.

This is the best Inflatable furniture samples idea I have ever
read. [+]. |

We have a criticism straight away; this idea is not in fact halfbaked in any way, it's actually really good and could be commercialized as a USP for a furniture vendor. Standard base units, some cardboard cutouts, and a selection of fabric covers would permit prospective purchasers to see the goods in situ. |
|
|
It would work for kitchens and bathrooms, too. |
|
|
Combine it with the centrally heated idea to allow try
before buy of heated furniture. |
|
|
Comes with a cat to spike it for quick and messy let-down. |

Related to this idea, IKEA have an 'augmented reality' app which allows you to point your phone camera around your room and see from all angles what a chosen piece of IKEA furniture will look like in your room. It's very clever. |

Hmmm, "Cat Spike", hmmm ... |

Thanks [hippo] I knew I was vaguely aware of such a thing existing, hence the reference to looking at a screen. |

//Standard base units, some cardboard cutouts, and a selection of fabric covers// I think you are getting confused with the actual furniture available from a number of large companies. |

|
No, not at all; the stuff we're proposing is far more robust and durable than the actual product sold. |
|
|
Yes, we know we are, but external validation is always useful. |

The AR is good for looks but the actual sitting on the product could be modelled by the inflatable with clever use of materials and structures. It may not look like the seat by it could feel like it. |

+ instead of having to send them back, could they
just disintegrate? or pour water on them like
dissolvable packing beads |

Do they multiply if left unattended, like xan's
annotations? |

Just put them in your plastic recycling. Chop them up with
scissors first, if that makes it easier. |
