Inflatable Cell Phone

A Cell Phone that can be inflatable and "extended"

Todays Cell Phones are small and that is very practical for many reasons such as storage etc. However, sometimes they are simply to awkward to hold.

How about a Cell Phone that is inflatable, so you could blow it up to the size of a classic phone receiver.

A simple solution would be just to blow up a grip surrounding the phone.

A more sophisticated approach would have a phone with separable parts. For instance you have a safety catch you turn off and then when you inflate the phone the earpiece part is separated from the keyboard part which is separated from the microphone part (all of course connected by some kind of extended wiring.

I have a pin, a very large pin.

Dammit, [squeak]! You know you're not allowed to bring pins into the bakery!

This is a swell idea. You could expand into land phones, pagers, and faxes. This could balloon into one of the greatest marketing phenomenoms of all time! This could be huge! +

would you foresee any problem with this phone automatically inflating for incoming calls? you know, it just gets bigger and bigger until you answer the call.

[toejam] : Blow up to human proportions of spouse - hmm, gives a new meaning to phone sex I guess.

[po]: Auto-inflate is an interesting idea. It would probably not be so good in many situations. But one could have a sensor that automatically causes the phone to inflate when it gets wet, thus reducing risk of phone loss when at sea.

Also perhaps somekind of theft prevention solution, a stolen phone auto-inflates to make it more difficult to conceal (but I guess a pin would regulate this, but then the bang would be a give-away if close by)

<airline steward voice>To inflate your cell phone, pull the rip cord like so. If this does not work, inflate it manually by blowing into the tube here. Do not inflate or operate your cell phone until you are outside of the airplane. Thank you for flying with us today.</a s v>

[k_sra] If I had an inflatable computer, I could give it a good whack every time it freezes.

Granted, the frequent freezing would probably be due to the lack of cooling offered by an inflatable plastic casing.

Sounds like a perfect use for airbag technology. Ring (presses button) Pop! "Hello?"
