Whilst working on the 3D ouija board glasses for archaeological research I realised if the battery is connected the wrong way it might inadvertently plunge the researcher into the past.
This would raise a number of opportunities for humour. Firstly the kit must contain something obviously beyond
the science of the day, for example a cheap smartphone (with a spare battery).
Approaching the authorities of the day, you can identify yourself as a time traveller and give sage advice such as "Don't attack Pearl Harbour" but then everyone has a prankish nature. So, the kit also includes a small portable polygraph rigged to give a false answer to each fifth statement.
For example, you could say "Nahhh, don't bother with that Manhattan Project, better to put all the funding into spray on cheese, can't tell tell you why, but a nod's as good as a wink".
Currently working on recall function before hapless natives discover the nature of the ruse.

Ummm, are you from this future and this is your fifth statement? |

I thought you were the one from the future <wheels out the polygraph> |

Depending where you live, I probably am. |

I have heard of I think therefore I am and also I think therefore I appear to be, but yours is more nuanced, [Auscan]. |

Hmm...WWII looking a bit suspicious as the world wouldn't have bothered pouring huge sums of cash into nuclear weaponry, rocketry and computers, so these things would have come a lot later on. |

Inventing paradoxes to eff with the universe is what we do best. |

I always thought dropping off one Sherman tank with gasoline and repair supplies into the Civil War might produce entertaining results. |
