Send your mum a I love you message.
Ask your friends how they're really doing.
Ask your friends what they've been doing.

<Chronological's mum> Hmm... an I love you message. I wonder what they are after? |
Send the first copy to 8th. No, wait, that'll just help him
hide easier. |
Why would we want to hide ? Anyway, we already have a cloaking device ... |

Email a link to this to [beany] ? |

Why would we want to downgrade... ? |

What [kdf] said, aside from all that mushy faffing about. |
I'd hesitate to use the word //need// but this seems
like a fine idea. |
Is this "model" in the sense of "a smaller, cheaper, easily replaceable, though largely representative version of the actual item, with limited functionality, but that can be considered expendable, and that it's fine to do destructive experiments on" ? |
We understood that your species referred to these as "children" ... |

Maslow's hierarchy? First things first,
then the higher level achievements will be remembered. |
First things best. The people I know who are doing
"higher level achievements" often are carrying a
heavy mental burden. There is another way. Return
to monkey. |
Looks like the U.S. are going to try that, at least for the next four years ... |
Maslow's hierarchy was pseudo- science with a quite creepy
political sub- text. Maybe don't start from there. |
Maslow's hierarchy has an important kernel of truth. Don't throw out the parable with the religion. |
OK, I'll bite; what would you say is the kernel of truth in
Maslow's hierarchy? |
If it's just "first things first", that's pretty vacuous because it
assumes that the correct sequence of firstness is already
settled. If you think that Maslow's particular sequence was
right (especially the higher parts of it), then you and I are in
a state of disagreement. |
As much as I want to disagree with you, I'll have to think about it first. |
Good thoughts, behaviours and empathies are not going to happen and be retained with low food intake and poor sleep. I'd say, there's levels of importance. |
Good sleep and nutritious food intake don't happen without good thoughts and behaviours, though. |

True enough, everything is only personal. Everything is personal product choice. |
... except your personal genetic sequences, which are set at time of manufacture. |
Nah. My metabolic environment and processes get buyer's choice. And some of the windows in the street even get vandalized. |
We might be at cross purposes here; my beef is much more with
the higher steps of Maslow's ziggurat: I have no problem with
prioritizing food, sleep and safety. It's where he makes the
(originally Hegelian) idea of self- actualization contingent on
societal esteem that it all goes horribly wrong, in my opinion. |
// contingent on societal esteem // |
Isn't that the thing where you're forced to interact with other members of your species ? |
Explain what that's for again... sounds quite horrible. |
Does anyone know what [kdf] said? |

Have you tried the Wayback Machine? |

Thanks, hadn't thought to do that. [kdf] said: |

How ARE you really doing this morning? |
I'm ready for bed (because it's this evening where I am). Just been to my parents- in- law's 60th anniversary celebration. So, quite warm and fuzzy. How about you? Thinking of a career in modelling? |
Yes, I'm certain there are thousands of agencies looking for pasty, obese middle-aged men with bad teeth. They scour the internet looking for such and now that you've told them I exist they'll track me down soon enough. I've avoided them so far, but for enough millions I suppose I can model a thong or two. |
I tried to build a model human but there were too many parts, some parts were missing, I had to get my own glue, and when I got done it wasn't nearly as big as the advertisements promised. I keep it on a shelf to remind me of the perfection of reality. |
May I suggest engaging a member of the opposite sex in your next attempt? |
